Mini Croque-Monsieur

Mini Croque-Monsieur

Ingredients

  • 3 large slices of country-style bread
  • 6 slices of ham
  • 12 slices of sausage (e.g., rosette de lyon, pieux)
  • 15 mL (3 tsp) maple mustard
  • 125 g (about 1 cup) grated gruyère cheese
  • 1 Delicious apple, thinly sliced
  • Dried figs cut into cubes (optional) 

Directions

  1. Spread maple mustard (approximately 5 mL (1 tsp) per slice) on bread
  2. Add 2 slices of ham and 3 slices of sausage to each portion
  3. Add pieces of apple and fig (optional)
  4. Top with gruyère cheese
  5. Bake in oven at 180°C (350°F) until cheese has melted
  6. Finish under broiler for approximately 1 minute
  7. Cut each slice of bread into 4 parts
  8. Serve
