Benefits and Nutritional Value

Honey is full of food energy that is easily absorbed by the body. It contains glucose and fructose as well as vitamins and minerals, including iron and calcium. Honey and its derivatives (pollen, royal jelly, propolis) are well known for their therapeutic properties.

  • High energy value with easily assimilated sugars makes honey the ideal fuel for sports activities
  • Low in calories and with a low glycemic index
  • Rich in antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients
  • Sans agent de conservation, ni saveur artificielle, ni additifs malsains contrairement à d’autres sirops.

Rich in minerals and antioxidants

Well known and loved by food lovers for its delicate aroma, honey also has significant nutritional value. On one hand, it contains fewer calories than other syrups and sugars on the market with only 65 calories per tablespoon.

On the other, honey contains magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese and riboflavin. It also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties and helps aid digestion.

Therapeutic properties

Renowned for centuries for its great taste but also for its therapeutic properties, honey was used by our ancestors as an antiseptic to fight infections and to speed the healing of wounds. Today, a number of studies support these practices, so much so in fact that some hospitals use honey in postoperative healing. Watch our video on the science of apitherapy.

Benefits for the skin

Honey is also used in the manufacture of a number of beauty products. Honey is believed to have antiwrinkle properties and the ability to refine skin’s texture and tighten its pores.
