February 15, 2017 Grands Prix du Design Award: Délices Érable & Cie boutique comes up a winner
Délices Érable & Cie, trademark of Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative, was a proud winner at the 10th Edition of the Grands Prix du Design Awards held February 15, 2017 at the Casino de Montréal. Our Old Montreal boutique, conceived by the architectural firm of Provencher_Roy, won for best interior design in the commercial space category, 1600 to 5400 sq. ft.
The firm was commissioned to redesign the boutique as an integral component of a major Délices Érable & Cie re-branding initiative. Ours was no small challenge for the firm’s interior design division. We knew we needed to reposition the brand as forward looking, urban and chic with a strong gourmet quality while never forgetting where we come from: we are purveyors of all-natural products and remain firmly connected to the timeless traditions of maple syrup, cranberry and honey production.
The people at Provencher_Roy, led by designer and partner Pascale Vaillancourt, listened and delivered. The space is open and uncluttered yet warm, with a distinctive bistro feel. The interior finishes include maple for its elegant rusticity, copper for pendant lamps, and quartz for the delicacies counter, all punctuated with the assertive, contemporary look of black metal shelving and accents. The overall effect as cited by the awards jury: the perfect balance between retro-rustic and urban modern.
Which, not coincidentally, perfectly embodies the Délices Érable & Cie brand.
