Benefits and Services


The primary objective of Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative is to promote and protect the common interests of its members by:

  • Bringing Quebec's members together, structuring their organization, and fostering their effectiveness with the goal of protecting and promoting their cooperative and socio-economic interests
  • Encouraging members to acquire professional maple-related training and cooperative education
  • Providing professionally relevant resources, services, and expertise in packaging and marketing maple, honey and/or agrifood products nationally and internationally

In addition, Citadelle is:

  • An association with voluntary membership that is open to all
  • A body whose members work together to carry out their responsibilities as entrepreneurs
  • Actively used by its owner-members
  • Dedicated to making the most of the various advantages members enjoy—as entrepreneurs, users, and constituents
  • Committed, as stated in its bylaws, to equal treatment of members and equitable distribution of contributions and earnings
  • Dedicated to maintaining its members’ right to vote
  • Devoted to encouraging its constituents to cooperate in matters of business development
  • Actively involved in the maple industry (Table filière, Centre ACER, Conseil de l’Industrie de l'érable, etc.)
  • An organization in which education—particularly the sharing of knowledge and information—is a key driver


The cooperative offers its members a wide range of services:

  • Fire/theft insurance
  • Barrels delivery and pickup
  • Machinery testing and adjustment (densimeters, refractometers, thermometers)
  • Maple syrup sample testing
  • Cooperative training for members
  • On-site technical assistance (testing according to HACCP standards)
  • Cooperative education
  • A network of regional representatives
  • Informative publications for members, Le Coopérateur acéricole and Le Supplément acéricole
  • Members meetings
