Maple Syrup Producers

What is the difference between Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative and the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers?

The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers (FQMPS) represents all producers in the province—membership is mandatory. It sells syrup in bulk to authorized buyers and provincial producers receive payment based on the amount of syrup sold and negotiated prices.

Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative represents nearly 2,000 producers who have voluntarily chosen to handle retail and industrial marketing on their own. It has a growing international sales network.
